You ball up your fists and go to lay her out!

“Oh, Glass! I’m happy you’re okay… Are you… okay? You bleed a lot for a true hunter…”
Your head is a throbbing mess. “What a stupid question— … ow…”
“Well… I’d wager, swinging above your weight seems to be your one trick, if our last encounter was anything to go by.” Yenkaran says, “So… you’ve met our dear Effrenka…”
“Yeah, she’s charmin’. I think I might’ve— ughh…” you groan, “—might’ve nailed her in the snout.”
He sighs, “I’ll admit this is not how I’d expect the night to go. She— well we may have caught her in a rotten mood. It’s been a rough few weeks for her and I’d thought she’d calm down by now.”

You scoff, “Well, poor thing.”
“To be fair, you did appear so inclined to pugilize her. Why did you act like that?”
“Eh, I woke up to the worst lapdance ever and defended myself?”
“…By spitting in her face?”
“Look, I used what I got.”
Kudos_77 says:
Okay I mean that bitch Effi deserved that shower and probably a lot more but should you really fall to her level? Think of what your dad would say if he saw you acting like this? Hell you’ll probably be fitting into Iplyn’s stereotype of Soryans. Be better than Effi.

If Dad saw you right now, he’d go, “Shoot, maybe I should’ve taught my short-ass daughter who inherited her mother’s short-ass fuse, how to not get absolutely folded by tall, people-eating, harlots when they manhandle her.”
And last time you checked, Sorya aren’t known for looking you in the eye and fighting fair and square, because they know they’re frail and weak. Honestly, as low as it is for you to say this, you’re beginning to understand them.

Yenkaran continues, “Regardless, I’m glad I was there to check her rage. Her overreacting? It’s been known to happen. I offer my sincerest apologies, dear Sister, for you to endure such another dreadful encounter.” He sighs and his tone softens, “I… want you to know you aren’t here against your will; If you’d like to turn back, just tell me so and I’ll take you home.”
You feel the cool wind on your fur. “I’m not going nowhere. This is where I should be.”
“Hm, well I must admire you for clinging to your principles in the face of overwhelming strangulations. Now, while it’d be wise that you madams don’t speak for a spot of time, I’m also eager to make some progress tonight. Which, to trouble you further, you mentioned more scores of Nanzuul? Do tell. Shall we find them skirmishing the eastern hamlets? Or perhaps raiding the coasts of the Ippe? It would be a day’s journey by crank, although I’m not looking forward to sitting between you two for that long, and that woman is quite the unpleasant pilot.”
You speak up, “No, we won’t need to look far. They’re in Cohv.”
“In the city? Now that is much more intriguing.”
He uncrosses his legs. “It’d be best to have her ears in this discussion; shall we get her?”

What do you guys like the most?
That the comic gets updated more frequently but less animations parts like this part, or this level of amazing quality the artists are doing?
That’s a tough one. I do like the animation and high quality, but I also liked frequent updates. Ultimately, let Yitexity and Jasken work at their own pace. You can’t rush quality like this.
Yeah, I do respect the high quality of the comic, each character and scenery are drawn with taste
I think a healthy mix is the best way to go. A single update every few months with a lot of good art will leave people wanting, while a lot of updates with decent art won’t let the artist(s) show off their skills and passion, which is what we’re here for. I think a good idea would be to have… Read more »
Yeah Glass, beat her ass ye- oh.. ooo.. OH DAMN… oh… oh.
Well, shit…. At least she tried! 😀
She’ll get her revenge. She just will have to go at it another way, such as getting someone else to beat Effi up for her.
I notice that the Circle only seems to be comprised of wolves, wild dogs and wild cats. There are a lot of predators not there, which made me think the Circle is only supported by some predators. I have a theory that other predator species hated the Circle for going on with all the ritual crap and for stealing their… Read more »
It just occurred to me that there may not even be a Nanzuul cache. Kivari could have lied to Glass to lure all the Circle in one location, and then she will tip off the Qoths to go get them.
Okay guys, something clicked, and I got and idea so bear with me a bit. (Warning, this is a freaky idea so keep it in mind) Zeb and Glass are definitely going to do it (In that freaky way) Why do I think that? Just because turns out that Zeb is sterile, so I was checking a little bit on… Read more »
Doesn’t matter if he is sterile or not, the mere act of such is problematic, to put it lightly. Unless we want to short circuit the guy, he has to first be okay with actually doing it. I suggested that perhaps there could be different sects of Pasturism with different views on hunters, so this could help him feel more… Read more »
Oh of course that is still an aspect of his character with his perspective and we see that in the chapters, it’s still a whole aspect that will be developed as the story advances, and I just want to see to what kind of conclusion and perspective he will take in the end, but that aside, I just was just… Read more »
It is funny. Thank you for sharing it.
The pacing is tight so far. I say only a hug-and-cry, emotionally supportive relationship will complement this story as it moves along.
I have read and watched too many romantic subplots being unceremoniously aborted when they start clashing with the rhythm of things.
That hug and cry aspect I can imagine, but it also comes with clashing of ideas. Zeb’s religious ideas are going to clash with Glass’s ideas, especially if – this is a theory – Zeb rescues Glass from a Qothic execution. I have already said why Glass will be betrayed by Kivari, and how the Qoths will then order her… Read more »
This is starting to sound like TLOU part 2. I wasted time hate watching that while humming “Let it go” lmao.
Good gravy, I don’t want to suggest anything that would turn it into such a mess. What part of what I said sounds like the Last of Us 2?
Daily perspective-taking exercise.
-try to subdue confused stranger without hurting.
-Fetch water.
-Get spit on then swung at.
-try harsher version of subduing, get booped in the snoot mayhaps?
-excessive rage slam.
I was thinking about it, and Tinderkell reminds me of two other fantasy stories. One is Wings of Fire, the other is Wakfu. I’m not exactly sure why, just something about Tinderkell gives off a similar feel.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Continuing my research as the Bureau of Anti Cannibal Research, I have some ideas to defeat Effi if Glass fights her again. Effi looks like a Tundra Wolf. Tundra Wolves have eyes that can’t see color, their frontal vision is poor, their fur also makes it a disadvantage because if they ended up in a different habitat that wasn’t similar… Read more »
When Effi says in 57 “ White Hunter with the Busted Headlamp scoffs at you, “That’s fantastic to hear because right now she’s starting to remind me of someone we know”, who is she referring to? Yenkaran says that she is a horrific driver in this instalment and that he’d rather not have to be on a crank with her… Read more »
I left a suggestion in the submissions before 58 was released under the name The Bureau of Anti Cannibal Research. Instead of encouraging Glass to start a brawl, my idea was to – I know this sounds crazy – mind control the two of them. I thought that she could Jedi mind trick them, because I felt that their cannibalism… Read more »
This is really good, but I am hoping for the return to Savage company…
Yitexity could be revamping Savage Company, perhaps rebooting it to fit in with Zootopia 2. Savage Company was the fan sequel to the original, so Yitexity could be instead rebooting it into a squeal for Zootopia 2.
Just an idea, not offical. Don’t take this as fact.
Writing your own characters is a thousand times more fun than writing others.
OK. Gnomanyan martial arts are weak against her bitch-fu. Lesson learned. Imagine what it’d be like running her over with a cart. That’ll cheer you up,
Gnomanyan martial arts comprise of trying to hit someone while horrifically intoxicated. It’s hard to win against someone with general fighting skills when your ‘training’ involves trying to keep your guard up whilst on your….. urm, tenth bottle of…. whatever. I assume the Circle know general wrestling and sword skills, nothing fancy, specialising more in sneaking, tracking and wildness survival… Read more »
Thinking about it more, Glass acts tough not just because she might be more of coward, but as a defence mechanism. In fact, her cowardly personality might not just be the Gnomanyan influence, but as trauma from whatever happened to her on Gnomanya. Something scared her psychologically, something…. evil. She tries to hide it under a gruff, hard as nails… Read more »
I know I have said some of this before, but I just wanted to restate it so others could see.
The second swing that misses by a megaparsec gave me the chuckles. Oh my poor, poor Glass…..
I don’t think Glass was the martial artist in this story. I imagine she is more of a sharpshooter, thief class of character. Instead, Glass needs a big, strong hero to protect her and act as the meat shield while she scurries behind enemy lines stabbing and shooting them in the back. Zeb is going to need to fill the… Read more »
Spelling and grammar correction. I meant *I don’t think Glass is the martial artist in this story*
Priorities. Glass needs to learn how to read and write. Zeb needs less cranking and more aerobics.
I imagine that for Zeb to turn into this he would need some sort of training. Where do you guys think he will get it from, and from who?
Exactly! Good idea!
Anonymous, I wasn’t saying good idea to myself, I was saying it to your suggestion. I wanted to clarify so you got the recognition you deserve.
Once he is has trained enough, then Zeb can get revenge for Glass and kick Effi’s butt. I’m sure he would just love the chance in general to humiliate the Circle.
Getting her butt kicked is good for Glass. Why? Well, as a wise salesman once said: YOU WON’T BECOME A [Big Shot] WITHOUT TAKING A FEW [fights]. I HAVE BEEN [beat] ON, [stepped] ON, [$#] ON, [$#]D UP, [$#**]D DOWN, [shaken] UP, [stirred] AROUND, [cracked] LIKE AN [egg], HAD [sand] KICKED IN MY [eyes], HAD MY [nose] METAPHORICALLY [ripped off],… Read more »
Right, she’s got braids, her voice makes glass’s head spin, and now you are hiding her full name? There’s got be something Gnomanyan about her, no? What is she anyway? Some type of Wuln?
I don’t think she is Gnomanyan. Here is this exchange between Glass and Yenkaran in entry 29: “He nods, “Smart girl… I’ve noticed a unique growl to your tongue, and a Sorrova this far east makes you quite the exotic species. May I inquire about your origin?” “Gnomanya.” “So far away, then.” If Effi was Gnomanyan, Yenkaran wouldn’t have called… Read more »
The Circle seems very similar to Indiana Jones’ version of the Thuggee cult. Both disguise their activities behind sophisticated facades, both enslave others and both conduct evil blood rituals. The clothing and style seem very similar, with dark reds and blacks being used. The most striking similarity is how the Thuggees brainwash members into their ranks using the blood of… Read more »
I’m starting to really like Yeenkaran
Maybe he might be redeemed. My theory for the Circle is that is it run by some eldritch entity that does not give a stuff about the actual predator versus prey ‘culling the world of poison’ that Yenkaran and the others talk about. Instead, it just cares about using them to allow it to influence their reality. Yenkaran will eventually… Read more »
Looking forward to finding out what species Effi is; looks like one we haven’t seen before.
I have been trying to find out what species each of the characters are, as a matter of fact. Glass seems to be a Grey Fox. Zeb is an antelope. Yenkaran is a hyena. Kivari is a Maned Wolf. Landylyn is a Flemish Giant Rabbit. I haven’t determined what the others are yet. Janko is also an antelope, but might… Read more »
Speaking of species, here’s an idea. Yitexity’s early comic career was heavily inspired by Zootopia, with him making the fan sequel Savage Company. It can be seen that the design of Zootopia influenced his character design, with the newer Savage Company art being so good it is identical to offical Disney ones. Now, it is that design that influenced the… Read more »
No elements of Zootopia 2 will influence Tinderkell’s worldbuilding :>
Good to know. But does mean that Tinderkell will only use mammals? It would be cool to see reptiles and avians. These are not exclusive elements of Zootopia 2, but rather elements that Zootopia 2 included in its story. Reptilian and avian species are general elements across worldbuilding.
Like, it would be cool to see a snake species of nagas. The reptiles could be existing in their own undiscovered continent with their own isolated culture and religion and technology. Same with the avians.
We aren’t doing the opposite of Zootopia, just that what it is doing is not influencing the decisions we make with our world.
Good to know. I think I just phrased it the wrong way. I am looking forward to seeing what you and Yitexity’s comic adds in the future.
Oh wow. Glass really ate shit there. I’m not totally surprised, but damn, that was rough girlie.
I suggest that we encourage Glass from now on to be more diplomatic. For instance, perhaps we should stop embodying Emperor Palpatine and refrain from telling Glass to “kill him, kill him now. DO IT”
If anyone would like to hear if I have any thoughts on any specific topics or other general theories, please ask! I would love to engage.
It seems like Glass is a…. well, glass cannon. She has more bark than she has bite, and ends up picking fights she cannot win. She also seems to backpedal quickly when an actual opponent is clearly distinguished. For instance, she will pick a fight with Effi but start stammering and back-pedalling when someone like Ipyln confronts her. This shows… Read more »
To continue on this theory, I imagine Zeb goes through a more standard hero’s journey whereas Glass is a more Byronic hero or antihero. See it like this, Zeb is Luke Skywalker, using determination and effort to build up his strength and fighting skills to surpass the strength of his enemies and be a fearless force of good. Glass is… Read more »
Spelling correction. I meant preserve, not perverse
Yenkaran continues to be immensely suave
Is that his actual character, or is he just putting on a face. Perhaps he is just as savage, if not more than his team.
I actually really don’t like Yenkaran’s ‘purple prose’. There is something not right about it. For his talk of being more sophisticated than his team, is has to be an act. I don’t mean he isn’t a cannibal using the fishmonger as a front, but his sophisticated mannerism disguise far wilder and less articulate monster whose only desire is to… Read more »
Today I learned that ‘purple prose’ is a phrase that exists! Although, I’m not entirely convinced that that may be the case here. Granted, some of his language is a little unusual by modern, real world standards (like ‘pugilize’ for example), but much of it just reads as ‘from a dignified/upper class background’. Now of course, that’s not to say… Read more »
Either way he still eats people and is most certainly not to be trusted D:
I had a theory/idea before of what happens if he and the Circle got a taste of their own medicine. What do I mean? If people started hunting them and eating and skinning them.
See all the pointies sticking out of them on the beacon mural? I don’t think the depictions are entirely fantasical.
Maybe with enough stolen “light” they turn into mindless terminators?
Perhaps. Although, I was thinking more if the grazers did the same. I wondered what would happen if a grazer ate what Glass did in Dine or Dash and Yummers. It seemingly made her go savage for a bit, and eating more would seemingly make a hunter lose their mind and go completely savage. So what would happen if a… Read more »
Nothing much les the act is followed up with an enchantment or the likes I guess. There must be a reason the Shintaric higher-ups put everyone else on a need-to-know basis, because rediscovery of this ancient knowledge by the masses may cause the unthinkable to happen again. So far the mitigation strategies such as information censorship and summary execution of… Read more »
If these mitigation strategies have been so successful, than how has the Circle been able to come back? The Qoth’s tolerance as Kivari says cannot be the reason, as all records and knowledge of Circle rituals have been kept by the Shintarics. How did the Circle in Cohv start again? I theorise that the rituals they are performing maybe different… Read more »
They havent, not full blown. From what I can gather, they only hunt the ones who can expose them Nanzuul agents, and possibly pretty dudes with large trunks. This restraint serves to avoid a dedicated crackdown, and something more onimous even to them…..losing control. Mikella once said “only a savage wouldn’t season their food”, which hints to me that there… Read more »
It would benefit the Qoths to censor the news of the Circle’s reemergence. There could be a ceasefire agreement in place with the Nanzuul and that bunch doesn’t need anymore pretexts. I don’t think the Qoths want another front as they are having their hands full dealing with the Confederation already.
That’s a really good point. However, even if they haven’t fully come back, why have they in some capacity? How did it start? Who started it?
It never went away in the first place wherever grazers and hunters coexist; naturally occuring phenomenon, remember? The Circle in its current state probably doesnt even know the what, why, and how until they get the “dung tablets” sealed away by the Shintarics.
Also I suspect what stopped the 8th Crusade also stopped the Circle eons ago.
Another really good point. However, the biological urge to hunt doesn’t explain the savagery of the hunters. There has to been something in the meat that causes them to go savage. One of my theories is that the Circle was created as a slave army. I talked about Lovecraftian entities, but I also thought about something of a biological horror.… Read more »
I was getting worried about you, Yitexity. You hadn’t posted in such a long time, I thought you were sick or something of the sort.
