Wanderer says:
So… How was the session with Sister Roni. Learn anything?

Honestly, it was nice learning more about your home. It wasn’t all lousy, come to think of it. It wasn’t just that they came up with smart things, but knowledge was sacred, and libraries were a little bit like the temples here. Everyone knew how to read, in fact, it was mandatory. And the smartest people were the ones in charge; can you believe that? The nerds ran the show. You don’t believe that for a second.
People still shot each other though. Nice to know some traditions never die.
Thinking about it, Dad grew up during Old Gnomanya, which means he knew how to read. So why the hell didn’t he teach you?
Oh, right. Speaking of which:

Your girl can finally read and write her own name. Sister Roni wanted to start small, but this makes you at least a tiny bit smarter, right?
Hopefully you’ll live long enough to learn another word.

Okay, now first do you know where the wharf is?
Here. You can smell it. Almost as if this wharf is dashed with blood.
SomemuttupNorth says:
Make your way down to the main dock level. Is that giant fish thing the “slate eel” in question? Even if not, it’s a big enough landmark to use… and smell.
The letter mentioned “docked beneath it”, so keep your eye out for any weird looking boats.
Oh, and watch your step. We don’t want to end up in the drink again, especially the greasy, bloody, polluted harbor drink.

You make your way down to the Blood-Dashed Wharf, and yeah, the name checks out. You had no clue where this district was at first, but the stench from a few blocks down did lend you a helping hand. The air reeks of fish offal, and you can even taste the iron in the air. Not gonna lie, it’s making you hungry.
Upon closer inspection, the large, sorry-looking fish doesn’t really resemble an eel to you. It’s more like large brineslash from back home— minus the fin blades it uses to slice people’s heel cords before dragging them to deeper waters.
GAB says:
Take a moment to let in the view. Have you ever seen something like the Beacon at night before?

Your city had a lighthouse, but nothing like that. Though you did have some fairly tall buildings back home. One was an old observatory, and you remember its dome glittering after many a rainstorm. It was very pretty, up until it sank into the ground and people stripped the roof of its bronze. Pretty sure you saw some loser eating noodles off of one of the telescope lenses they pilfered.

Your dad used to take you up there to look at the moon. As well as the Void Chop. It’s nice to see it still float over you on this side of the world; it’s the only thing from home you recognize.

Although, it seems like you don’t really need a telescope to look at the moon here. It’s… bigger than you remember. Much bigger. With a different color. Might be the climate?
I-am-Madb says:
Step 1: Acquire crab (see Quest Log)
Step 2: Acquire Slate Eel
Step 3: Profit
What better place than here to find crabs? You’ll ask.

You approach a fishmonger. “Do you sell crabs?”
“Do you see any crabs here?”
“…No?”
“Then there’s your answer.”

Dick.
You’ll keep a look out. And once you find that crab you’ll— what exactly?
Fienryra says:
Man how long has it been since you’ve eaten? Best think about your plans on a full stomach yeah?

The only thing you ate today was a weird fruit, and a very sweet pastry. That amount of sugar should last you the night.
Besides, this is actually a typical day for you food-wise. Better to be agile on a half-stomach vs lazy on a full one, if that makes sense.
Bough says:
Well, if the sunset is anything to go by, you have some time to kill before the near moon is brightest.
While the noble art of winging it has gotten you this far, maybe there can be less panic this time around. You should probably get your story straight for Yenkaran.
Why would some unknown, bold, hand-stabbing newcomer suddenly have information on the Nanzuul? Maybe you can claim Zeb had something, or that you overheard it in town.
At least why you’re giving it to them is pretty easy – You wanted to pay them proper tribute for that juicy Bovani they let you drag off, which you definitely, 100% ate. Which is also why you’re not hungry for more mystery meat.

Guess you’ll practice your story for those freaks. You approach the closest, suitable audience.
“Hello, Mister Yenkaran. Nice night, isn’t it?”
Eh, no. Too harmless.
barfu says:
It’s time to put on the dark and edgy look, Glass. How exactly did the cultists look and act again?
Right, probably more serious. Remember, you’re a fellow savage with a traumatic backstory that grants you a roguish aura as well as a high vocabulary.

“Greetings, brother… “
“I’m here, and I want in. And I possess some news. Do you have a recognizance of my catch? Yes, still mine. I told him—no—it, that if it tells me anything on the Nanzuul, I’ll consumerate only half of it’s leg. It squelched and told me about a Nanzuul operation happening in The Stacks District near the old cranehulk… A gang of the heretic sort, traffickating weapons into Cohv, possibly in an attempt to stockpile a caché for an attack from within. I say we nip at them first, steal their stockpile, and engorgerize on their withins!”

You’ll work on it…
Probably a good time to find that eel.

You continue down the wharf and find what looks to be the spot.
Thinking more on your plan, you’re hoping to let The Circle do all the dirty work. Lightkeeper Kivari does expect you to infiltrate the cult— and you will, but you’ll do it in a way that keeps your ass intact.
Perhaps just tip em off. Be the helpful fly on the wall and leave them to their hungry affairs. Piece of curd.

Besides Discord, is there anywhere else to join in on the Tinderkell discussion? Is there anyway to better engage people here, because people infrequently respond back to my comments.
If anyone saw this an responded to my comments because of it, thank you very much.
The Void Chop is a satellite built by an ancient advanced race of being. Think of Graham Hancock’s theories and…. although I have grown sick of hearing of this theory…. the Annunaki. Is what built to monitor the activity on the planet. What do you guys think?
Are you alright Yitexity? You haven’t posted in a long while. I hope you’re not sick.
Anyone else getting real Innsmouth feelings from this place? I said before that the Circle could be like the Esosteric Order of Dagon. Why? The Circle has been extinct for thousands of years, but now they have reestablished themselves. But how? If all the members were destroyed and their knowledge keep in Shinatric hands, how did the Circle come back? My idea is that some eldritch being hypnotised the members into establishing the cult. It doesn’t care about the prey versus predator crap, but wants to use the Circle to gain power. What do you think, guys?
The Void Chop? Waaaiiit I wanna know what’s up with that! Let’s stop and just have an astronomy lesson
please continue!
Good work reading and writing. Long journeys of all kinds have a first step.
Regarding your cover story.
Keep it simple and laced with truth.
Tell them zeb is a coward. He begged for mercy and offered up some of his kind he’d heard about from his cousin. It’s a bigger herd than you could take, but you knew of a pack that could make use of such information. Consider it a gift of friendship. For sharing territory.
If they see zeb around by chance, your story is blown.
So, Have to explain this. Maybe claim he’s still of use. If they push, say something like… hmm.
Like You’re considering training him to lure prey to good killspots.
if things go well, maybe they’ll let you see how their pack works. tell them Yours was a bit different and they’ve been gone a while now. You’re just used to working alone but… maybe you could be persuaded?
Remember to put this as a submission also, I don’t think they’ll put it in the story if you don’t
Amazing vocab there, Glass.
It was astoundifying to see her elocating so knowledgely!
If lagate Lanius goes OOGA BOOGA on me like a post-apocalyptic tribal should, then I doubt the final confrontation(s) would feel as epic in FONV.
Mad Max is another example.
